Supervising Graduate Students@York

Supervising Graduate Students at York is a three day course delivered over three months. Participants will develop their skills as supervisors of Masters or Doctorate students within the context of York University. This course is suitable for experienced and novice supervisors alike, as we focus on the individual supervisor’s personal development.

The course has achieved external recognition from SEDA (Staff and Educational Development Association) an internationally recognized organization which accredits courses of this kind. In order to achieve the SEDA certificate participants are required to attend all three days of the course and complete a reflective report.

The course is delivered over three separate days to allow time for reflection and development. The three days follow the typical student and supervisor journey starting with establishing the relationship, keeping it going and finally completion.
