Where In The World

Contributor: Deena Ingham, Loughborough University. D.ingham@lboro.ac.uk

Ingredients: Nothing apart from physical space

Method: Taking a central point (and making that the centre of our universe – i.e. Loughborough) we ask people to arrange themselves geographically according to their country of origin

Special Notes: It is particularly helpful to see the spread of nationalities, and informs opportunities in later sessions to draw out differences in practice in teaching and learning approaches across nationalities and cultures

Acknowledgments: I’ve seen the initial activity completed in several places particularly here at Loughborough by former colleague Dr Maurice Fitzgerald and have developed it myself to use the information gained in subsequent sessions of a long workshop.

References: Probably are some but none to my knowledge.
